Default False "low oil level" alert

Keeps coming on today. I checked the dipstick and it was well within operating range, went ahead and added 1/2 quart, still getting the message. With only 36,000 miles it has never leaked or had an oil consumption problem. Oil pressure is quite alright.
About the same time my heads up display seems to be losing its marbles- turns to a blue tint (instead of the greenish normal) and shows a bunch of jumbled up crap and 188 mph! I can shut it off and turn it back on in a few minutes and it's fine.
Anyone know about these ailments?
Thanks.

Check your passenger footwell area, and see if it is wet. I have read here where the AC drain tube can get clogged and flood that area. The BCM, along with one fuse panel, is behind there and can be damaged when this "clog" occurs. Symptoms can be what you describe. Generally confusing DIC data, and strange things occuring.

Also, how is your battery voltage? Batteries that are on there way out can cause odd things to display/happen. And batteries have leaked acid onto the BCM, which is directly below with similar results.

I hope it is nothing serious (none of these).

No, nothing like that. No wet spots and a brand new battery just installed last week. Wouldn't you know it- today everything is fine, no low oil alerts and heads up display seems to have repaired itself. Sure had me perplexed all day yesterday though!

Glad to hear that it worked itself out. Don't you just love technology

BTW, I just read in another post where someone had a similar "low oil pressure" problem, and was able to clear it up by disconnecting the battery temporarily.

The "low oil level" warning is just a bad sensor, no biggie

The Hud problem you describe is caused by the angle of the Sun hitting the screen causing all of the symbols to light up, also no biggie

That warning takes several ignition cycles to reset.
