stock oil pump works great as is.
While I've used double rollers on all my h/c installs, I've only heard of 1 or 2 stock timing chain failures in the LS1 community, so retaining the stock unit should be fine. However, I've always taken comfort in the fact that a new double roller will outlast a single chain any day with regards to chain stretch. I hate sloppy chains; gives up cam timing.
