Default C5 to Z06 conversion info needed

I have replaced the air filter assembly, MAF sensor, and air bridge with aftermarket parts on my '98 C5. I am interested in installing an intake manifold and fuel injectors from a Z06. Can I use my original fuel
rails (dual inputs)? Thanks.

Do you mean an LS6 conversion or a Z06 conversion?

There is alot more to a stock Z06 than any conversion you could ever make to a base C5. The entire body structure, engine, transmisson, rear end, brakes, steering, wheels.....ect.

If you want to upgrade the car for performance might as well not settle for replacing with Z-06 parts to gain only 55 hp. If you are looking to create a Z-06 clone, I wouldn't. Anyone who knows enough about Corvettes to know the the difference between the C5 and the Z-06 will know that it is not a Z-06 anyway and you will more than likely be ridiculed for being a wannabe.

No flame intended.

Be proud of your C5!

You should only have to change the coolant lines to accomodate the LS6 manifold

Obviously I picked a bad 'title' for my question. Not to mention some of you obviously only read the title! My C5 is a convertible, if a Z06 convertible was available, I would have one. I am not ashamed of my car, I am not a wannabe! I just want it to go faster!! So again, if I install a LS6 intake manifold and use LS6 injectors, can I use my fuel rails? My fuel rails (1998) are fed by two 'fuel lines', the LS6 engine is fed by a single 'fuel line'. Right???? Thanks again.

The rails will work I have 97 with a LS6 intake and injectors. The only thing that might be a problem is the flow rate on the injectors. You will probably run rich like I did. I have since changed to 42 lb injectors and LS1 edit. Dont forget to get the coolant lines. If I was you I would just use your injectors. You wont gain any power with the ls6 injectors. If anything you will loose. Unless you have a way to change the injector flow rate in the PCM stay with yours. Your injectors can handle moderate increases in HP. FYI moding is addictive this is where I started I now have a S/C. It turns into " I need this if I m gonna make this worth it". Good luck!

We offer the ls6 intake & injectors complete for $400. Your 98 car came with those injectors from the factory so a new set of injectors will go on without any issues!

Thanks for the info. I know exactly what you mean about starting to make modifications! Most folks think my toys spend more time dis-assembled than together. They may be right. While I'm modifying my '98, I am putting my '69 BB/4sp back to original, and my '34 Chevy 3W coupe is always apart!! I am headed exactly where you are. My goal is to remove/store my original engine (16K miles), find another engine, make some minor mods, add headers, and Pro-charger. While I am looking for an engine, I figured I would do the external stuff. (intake, etc.) Thanks
