Default whats up with this hose?!

Hey Guys!

I just recently installed the Granatelli intake.
When i was removing the stock Air Box assembly i disconnected a little rubber hose that was on connected to the air box on the drivers side.

What is this hose do?i think it said in the instructions that it's for the Emissions,Smog or something like that?
Well i tried connecting it to the Granatelli air bridge, there is a hole for it but there is nooo way it will fit in there.....

Please let me know what i should do,because right now this little rubber hose is not connected to anything it's just hangin next to the intake.

I remember when i turned on the car,i wanted to move it and it looks like that air is being sucked in trough that hose when the engine is running....

And btw.!
Did you guys disconnect the battery when you installed the new intake,i did not do that, should i do it now or did the computer just adjust to the new CAI?

Thanx,
Dean

i just poked a hole in the air bridge and jammed it in there and follewed up with some silicone to seal it. I have had no problems. Im not sure what exactly its for but i believe it for air evacuation

I did not disconect the batt. That just a saftey precaution. But if you disconnect you battery for more that a half hour, it will cause your computer to go into idle relearn and may speed up the process of you car getting used to breathing better

It feeds air to the air injection pump that operates at startup to inject air into the headers for emissions control. I'm very surprised anybody's air intake wouldn't make for provision for this hose as it needs filtration.
