Default Fan Operation Question - Not Temp Question

I just wanted some clarification on the way the fans operate. I heard that under a certain vehicle speed they come on based on your temp settings. Is that true? In other words, regardless of the temp settings, do they turn themselves off at a certain vehicle speed?

The only fan controls are based on engine coolant temp. The only other condition is defrost/A/C..

Thay will both be off, both run low speed (wired in series) or both run high speed (wired in parallel).

These are the stock programing commands :

Depends on the model year...
For later model years:
The low speed cooling fan is commanded on when the coolant temperature reaches 108°C (226°F). It is turned off if the coolant temperature lowers to 104°C (219°F). The high speed cooling fan is commanded on when the coolant temperature reaches 113°C (235°F). It is turned off if the coolant temperature lowers to 108°C (226°F). When the A/C is on and the coolant temperature reaches 85°C (185°F), the low speed cooling fan will be turned on at vehicle speeds less than 56 kPh (35 mph).

For early model years:
Low speed fans come on at 219,high speed fans come on at 228,low speed with a/c on...

Thanks for the post. So, I guess if my car's running at 178, and my 1st fan is set to come on at 178, then the 1st fan will stay on even at 100mph? Is there a disadvantage to that?

the fans are designed to cycle, not run constantly.. you will wind up replacing them prematurely if you run them constantly..
if your car is running at 100 mph and your coolant is at 178, because of your stat, yes your fans will stay on..
