Put a Blackwing on my '04 MN6 Coupe a couple of months ago. Ever since I did that the engine seems to knock under moderate or heavy acceleration, particularly on warm days. I had a Blackwing on my '99 A4 and it never never did this. Concensus seems to be that no re-tuning should be required with just a Blackwing. There are no Current or History error codes present on the DIC. All connections are hocked up correctly. Car has been driven in both Tucson and Los Angeles since I did this and it does it at both elevations. Always use Premium gas. Any Suggestions?

Have you ever changed your in-line fuel filter? Could just be a coincidence that the knocking appeared soon after the Blackwing installation. But a fuel filter that is getting to the clogged stage might be causing the engine to run at a leaner than normal condition, this may be the cause of the knocking under light to moderate load.
It's worth checking.
Back in November of last year, I installed my blackwing and air filter on my 02 C5. It started pinging lightly once the summer came along when I had the a/c on. In August, I had my kooks headers installed along with high flow cats, xpipe and a dyno tune using LS1-edit. The tech guy told me my air/fuel ratio was really out of whack and the header actually made things worse. With the headers, I went down to 193 rwhp. Once the tune was done, my vette was running stronger than ever at 322 rwhp (my baby being an A4) That's about 396 hp as rated by the factory. Best of all, the pinging completely went away. The engine runs smooth without any hesitation even under hot conditions. I think the blackwing does cause the vette to run a little too lean. It may be worthwhile to do a dyno tune even though you don't have any other mods. She'll run great any you'll pick up a few more ponies in the process.
