Default head question

id like to do some engine upgrade work. i dont know much in this area. id like to get new heads and a cam. i have an 03 ae ls1. my question is would it be better to get a set of stage 2 heads with a new cam or a set of ls6 head with a new cam. i dont want the car to have a lopey ride but id like to get into the 425-450 rwhp range. im also going to put headers on. what would be my best choice?

I have Cartek's stage 2x package and it is very street driveable. The Idle has some lope with the 2x cam thats installed, however I have taken the car on a 1500 mile trip with no problems and got around 25 mpg. They've been doing all my work and I am very satisfied with everything they've done. Give Dave a call, he'll answer any questions you might have. BTW they are having a sale on the head and cam packages right now.

depends on your budget

A good tuner usually charges about 2500 dollars to modify your heads.

A really good set of LS1 ported heads is about as good as the 2200 dollar AFR heads.

Personally, I would spend the money on the AFRs.
