Valve Spring Help
I cracked an intake valve spring on the number 2 cylinder. I am not positive, but I think it is an older model REV spring and I have heard that they were problematic at one time. The good thing is it was a dual spring, so the damage was not too bad.
I have heard some great things about comp springs, but which one to chose???
LS1 383
Fully ported and polished LS1 heads
Cam lift around .560

918 - Beehive single spring 1.290 base rated to .600 lift, 313 lb/in, 130@1.8, 318@1.2 Comp says good to 7000 rpm.
921 - dual spring don't know specs yet
977 - dual spring - 1.460 base rated to .600 lift, 155 @ 1.850, 420 @ 1.250
I am not a spring expert by a long shot. What are the major advantages of dual vs. single. Any wierd Harmonics to worry about? What is the range of seat and open pressures that I should be shooting for?
