I pulled the Vette out for a ride this afternoon as it's really nice outside. While driving back to work the HUD was all messed up & kept fading in & out. I turned it off for a while & then back on & all was fine?? car has been under the car cover for 3 weeks or so..It's an 03 with 3000 miles on it, any idea's ??
Yeap, this has happened to me a few times, but then it goes away...just another electric problem with the vette...I bet it's either got a short in it,,or a lose connection. I haven't had the time or patience to check it out with my local stealership yet.
Great, I have no plans of letting the dealer touch my car as they usually wreck more than they fix (looking back at when my Yukon was worked on) Anyway, I guess I'll just keep an eye on it.
check the ground wire in back of the drivers side cylinder head. Make sure to check that on a semi-regular basis.
Me and a friend who also has the HUD both had something simular happen......it was the sun reflecting off the unit. If it hits just right, it will look like its half faded or completly lit up ect. I am embarresed to say since I am a mechanic, but it took me a little while to figure out what was going on and I too thought my unit was broken. Two days later I got a call from my friend who thought his was going bad....turned out to be the sun also. Hope thats your problem becouse those things look expensive!

It's the sunlight energizing the LED crystals, nothing wrong with the electronics, just one of those things that will occasionally happen under the right lighting conditions.
