I have been shorting out wire # 7 while using Koolsox. Excuse if by chance this topic has been exhausted previously. I have been away from the Forum. I did a search and did not find a definitive solution. Have you all solved this problem with a ceramic end or custom built plug wire to solve this problem? Thanks for any input.
Thanks for the quick reply. How are you able to consistently maintain air space between the #7 sleeve and the header pipe?
The Taylors have a smaller plug boot than the stockers so there is more space between the wires and the primaries to work with. The sleeves do touch some of the primaries and discolor a bit but I've had no problems with the wires as a result.

Thermotec Heat Shields ! Although many have not had a problem, I will not take any chances!
I didn't have this problem until I put Patriot heads on I used a punch and dented the header tube right where the plug wire was hitting but this didn't fix my problem so I switched back to the stock heads and the problem was solved.
Make sure you have the stock heat shield on, this will take most of the heat without melting the wire and use a good quality heat insulator on the wire, I bought some Koolsox of the "parts for sale" section and they work fine for me
