what would be a good street/strip cam for the Z. It's an 03. I want a nice idle and I want to stay with the factory heads at the very least change out the valve springs. I would like something the with long tubes will put me over 400 at the wheel and have nice driveability to it. Also what would the cost be on this project. thanks guys.
I would think that a cam of about 228/234 @ .570/.580 w/114 LSA and a set of high slow cats and a set of LGM LTs should put you over the 400 rwhp mark and still have a decent idle.
This is the combo Ihave in my 03Z. I used a Vinci High Performance accelerated lift cam, the cams design makes it very steetable with a great power gain. They are a forum sponsor. Gary
228 camshafts do work very well on a 114. We've done several heads cam & cam only cars with the 114 lobe sep. The camshaft offers good driveability with some tuning. If I can help you with a camshaft & a mail order tune feel free to IM me & I'll get you pricing
