As my car warms up, I have been getting an inceasing amount of knock when I accelerate. When I give it just a little gas, the knock is worse or more pronounced than when I give it more...makes me think the Knock Retard is not working properly after warm-up. Before the car warms all the way up, there is little to no knock...I have been through several tanks of gas so it's probably not a bad tank of gas, and I have run some fuel injector/fuel system cleaner through the car. Has anyone else had problems similar to these, and does anyone know what I should do?
is the car under warranty? if so, take it there. are you in a place, like me, where they mix 10% ethanol into the gas? i noticed a spit-second knock that the computer instantly adjusted for and it went away. still, i've been mixing about 10% 100 octane unleaded into my tank, and am investigating why my '99 died over the weekend...hope it wasn't the gas. good luck
