LS2 Riming Chain and Dampner
The part number for the new stronger LS2 timing chain is 12586482 ($23.09 from GMPARTSDIRECT). It is made in France. I have not removed my original to compare the two yet. The timing dampener is 12588670 and is $8.17. It looks identical to the one that cost over $80.00 in this thread: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/showthread.php?t=843796
except mine is black. Well worth it if you have the holes already tapped. Both of these items were installed in later 04 LS1s. And by the way, the German JWIS timing chain (run on the C5Rs) is $95.00 from HME. (Phone 931-648-3333).
