Default Oil change

I want to change my own oil in my Z06. Is it sufficient to drive the car up on Rhino ramps to change the oil? I have read other posts which state that the car must be tilted upward slightly in the rear to get all of the oil out. Is this really necessary?

you can do your own oil but to get all the oil out of the pan the front end has to be lower than the back end.. rhino ramps are fine, but then you need to jack up the back... I just jack up the oilfilter side with my racing jack.. place a jack stand under the suspension.. drain the oil and filter.. remove the jack stand , and let the car down my drive is tilted in such a way that when my car is down the front end is lower than the back..

Ya, the problem is the drain plug is in the front of the pan... If it were in the rear oil changes would be much easier!!!!

After you are up on the Rhino ramps, just put a board on your jack and lift up the rear directly underneath the rear axle...
