Just installed brand new Borla Round Quad Stingers on my 04 Vert. Love the sound at all RPM ranges. Very minimal resonance. However, don't particularly care for the slight backfiring that occurs while downshifting the 6 speed when approaching a light. Is there any way to eliminate or atleast reduce it?

I'll disagree here. An X-pipe *might* help, but I have one and it doesn't help much. I still get a LOT of popping which I attribute to the lean tune (power) and the long tube headers...

I have a B&B bullet exhaust with a Magnaflow X-pipe and the X-pipe didn't really help. No long tubes either. When I have my AC on it doens't pop though. It depends on what exhaust system you're running.
my exhaust stops popping when a/c is on also has a cat rattle
that goes away when a/c is on. i'm waiting for my off road x pipe and rear xpipe i wil post when i hear results

Dude, one of the great things about the Stingers is the cool burble on deceleration, I love it. Give it few weeks and see if you change your mind.....
