Has anyone done a line lock install on a late model C5? I searched some of the old threads which say to install it just past the master cylinder but before the ABS/AH unit.
Does anyone know what lines and fittings are needed? I did look at a reference one of the threads I searched made to a Cartek install kit. However, when I looked it up on their website it was for cars without active handeling. Early models came this way I guess but I have AH.
My car is a 2003 and I have the Cartek line lock and would not even consider anything else. Not worth the hassle and any safety issues.
The generic kits out there usually require you do do some fabrication or flaring on your own.
The metal lines are prebent to the precise length with the precise angles and the fittings are already in place. The lines also made of the proper grade of material to tolorate the pressure inside the system. All you have to do is bolt it up .
It cost a bit more, but worth every penny in that you don't have to fabricate your own lines and such.
It is not described on their site. I bought mine in June of this year. You will have to give them a call. They'll ask what type of switch you want. I went with a button, place in the ashtray. Push it the front brakes are held, release it and they release. You can also go with an on off switch on the shifter.
Good luck.

I did the install on my '99 FRC. This is a manual, but I wouldn't think that would make a difference. My car has TC/AH, and it doesn't affect the TC/AH. You must turn off TC to do your burnout, but I alway do that for burnout and launch.
BTW, I see your avatar is the 12 sec club. Your HP is right at 400. What times are you running in the 1/4? Street tire or DR?
I don't think I am putting out 400 hP yet (haven't had a chance to dyno yet), but run at 12.43 - 12.58 You there or faster?
The last time I went to the track I had only installed the cam and the gears so I can't tell you what my times are with my current setup. However I am going to the track this weekend and I now have a set of 17" ET Streets so we shall see.
I have the Hurst "Roll Control" ...Love it ..BUT I didn't install it . Mike Norris did. There was some fabricating so if you have the opportunity to buy a prefab and bolt in.that's what I would do.
See my CF homepage for videos and watch the line loc at work..!!

Hey,
Just wanted to say thanks for the tip. I just got of the phone with Cartek and I ordered one of these kits from Dave. They are running a special this month so the entire kit with everything I need was only 199.95 which I think is a great deal considering they already have the lines and fittngs set up for my car.

Thanks for the help!
$199.95 is a great price for it. I think I paid $240.00 back in late June early July. The extra dough, which works out to in your case to be what, another $75.00 or so, is well worth the hassle free installation.
