I wanna know what all you people out there who have either the twin airflow or the vararam intake systems have to say about them. Pros and cons. And how big of a change there is in the sound and HP gains.
I have had the twin flow for three years now and am satisfied with it. I got it used for $100 and the install was no effort. I will say that there was not much difference between that and a K&N/Cutout shroud with the stock air box, until I put in the cold air screens. Definately a worthwhile difference then, even my 300ZX-TT buddy who gave me a hand felt the difference on the test drive.
The Vararam I think is just the better designed extension of what RM was trying to do. So if you have the $$$ and dont mind the install hassle, why not go for the Varraram. If you want to save some $$$ and have a no hassle install, Twinflow and screens.
I have the Vararam on my 04, installed it myself. I think the Vararam is the better of your two selections because of the ram effect. You can also hear the air being sucked through the front scoops, kinda cool. The install took me about two hours and is not too difficult. I can feel a difference but have not done a dyno. The stock C5 air cleaner is a joke. If you shop around, you can get the Vararam for around $300. delivered to you door.
