From: You want HOW much for that Corvette part??? Atlanta GA
i have to give thumbs up to tom jumper chevy. someone hit& run my car at the braves game a month ago. i had to replace the front bumper and left fender. tom jumper blended the paint on a sebring silver vette so well you can't tell anything happened. it was a good experience overall. ray pruitt is the body shop manager. worth checking out. just my .02
There is a place in Athens that has done good work on my car. I used to keep his business card in my wallet, but since i can't really use him now i took it out. I'll try to find it when i get home
I would not recommend Jumper's body shop after they repaired a friends rear ended FRC and he kept having electircal probs. with the tail lights. Roman and Fulcher at Jumper are amazing for service tho
My recommendation would be Geore Pope in Powder Springs 770-943-3585. He painted the bumper on my Black C5 and worked on my 93. He does mostly restorations Aston Martin, british sportscars from Lotus to MG etc and the last time I was there he had an original Cheetah but does pick up insurance work too. Also he is very timely and has very few people working for so quality control is there. Tell him Lamar Whitlock sent you.
I live literally right around the corner from them. I stopped in on a Saturday afternoon about two years ago when I first started looking for a car. Whoever I spoke to was very unfriendly and my first impression was not positive. Explain to me exactly what they do at this shop? I have been trying to figure this out for quite awhile. Maybe it would be worth my time to revisit them...
You need to talk with John..I'm sure you met his dad Ben, we call him smiley as he can be a bit grumpy at times guess that happens when you get old
As for the shop John does all the paint & body work right now he is very backed up with a 67,90,95 & a few more. I can tell you this his work is tops in fact the Red 62 C5 conversion that was on the cover of Corvette mag a few months back was one he did. He also did my wifes Yellow 95 (pic of it on my homepage)
Drop me an IM sometime and I'll try and meet you there.
Thanks for the response Steve, I'll take you up on your offer in the near future. Do they do mechanical work also? I am going to be looking for someone locally to install headers on my car (don't think I want to tackle this one myself). Also, anybody in the Atlanta area who could let me hear their car (preferably ZO6) with aftermarket headers? Really curious how the sound and power are changed.
