Oil temp is relative to how hard you are driving it, in my opinion. After some spirited driving, oil temps of 220+ are not unusal. Mine usually runs around 215 degrees after being thoroughly warmed up on a reasonable hot summer day.
That's one reason why GM recommends Mobile 1 oil in our Corvettes.

6 psig at 1000 rpm
18 psig at 2000 rpm
24 psig at 4000 rpm
