Differential.....still....
Best if you hear it yourself. Listen at 11 secs into the video. I posted about this about 2 mos ago. Am I beating a dead horse here? The dealer 'fixed' that noise. Their fix was to "drain and re-fill the differential fluid and put never seize on the axle splines". That worked for one month as expected. I feel confident that the problem is with the differential itself. I think the rear end is chattering and the banging noise is the right axle shaft being banged back and forth. You can feel it all the way through to the 6-spd shifter. Naturally, I took the car to the dealer and they can't hear the noise. It doesn't do it every morning but only does it when the car has sat all night. The dealer thinks he can replace the axle shaft and make it go away but will know more when they take the axle shaft out tomorrow.
Anyone 'in the know' that agrees with my theory on the chattering? Can you think of any way an axle shaft would cause the noise to where you can actually feel it but only when it's cold? Or am I just beating a dead horse and shouldn't expect GM to fix it.
