I had a cheap after market CAGS eliminator and after awhile it became intermittent. When I went to remove it and return it to original, I discovered the hot glue they had used to seal it had melted and run out over time leaving the resistors exposed to corrosion and shorting during wet weather. Just one experience which may or may not be the same as yours. Good luck.

I had the same experience. I think it shorted out first, then melted the sealing glue. The reverse lock out failed during this time also and had to be repaired by dealer. Not sure if this was related or not, but I didn't install another CAGS after that.
I just bought a used 02 Z06 with a CAGS eliminator on it. But I still get random shift lights from time to time.
What's the scoop... a bad CAGS Plug?
The light is just telling you how smart you are for getting a CAGS eliminator. The more times you see the light, the better the decision to install one.
