5.3L heads why??

I see the occational post about putting 5.3L heads on our ls1's and was wondering the pro's and con's to doing so? Also are these the same heads that my 03 avalanche has on it, because it really flys for a truck!

I put a set on mine w/a cam,higher compression=mo HP.

Are you using gm heads or aftermarket? Is there any disadvantage to doing this?

They are factory GM aluminum heads with some advantages: 1. Lots out there, lower cost 2. Small combustion chambers, more compression is good 3. Easy to port for higher flow

Bang for the buck they are hard to beat.

(That's what I'm running)

Smaller chamber for more compression. Also the exhaust ports flow very well.

And how much typical gain in horsepower with these???

I put Patriot Perf. heads on that I got from Texas Speed(vendor here)they no longer carry the Patriot heads ,you can call Trevor there & he'll gladly answer all ??,good people to deal with.

For a 347 get 5.3 ET Performance
for larger cubes GET LS6 ET Performance
AS A MATTER OF FACT FOR ALL HEADS.
