Default Riddle me this, Batman!

I had an earlier thread about my rear rotors being crack all the way through with large amounts of rust. I had ordered some new rotors, but on the way home that day the parking breaks where screeching to high heaven!

Worried that I might make things worse, I took the car into the dealer <ugh>. I drove the car in and I tell the rep what's wrong and she proceeds to ask me if the car has been left in standing water. I say, "uh, no. If that was the case, wouldn't the front rotors be rusted too? And don't these rotors have a protective paint on the inner hub area?". She ignores me and pops the hood and starts looking for water lines - I'm steaming! Low and behold, no water lines.

About an hour later, I get a call saying that the rotors are warped from "power breaking the car and romping on it too hard". I told the service manager that the car has never been raced, or "power braked". I asked about the large amount of rust and was told that, "the extreme heat caused by the power breaking caused the paint to melt off". I asked how one would "power break" a standard transmission - silence. I was then told that the parking break pads were completely gone (huh?!), but those would be replaced "under warranty". I then asked if there was some kind of malfunction with the parking break because it seemed logical that some went wrong there and the pads had been rubbing for weeks or even months without me realizing it - I was told that was not possible (yeah right). So after 30 minutes of arguing with the service manager, I tell him just to put the old rotors back on and I'll pick the car up. He then tells me that he won't let any of his tech's drive the car - too dangerous (I guess 1mph is too dangerous). I then tell him to just put on the rotors and I'll drive it out. He then tells me that with the new parking brake pads the old rotors won't fit - I'm like WTF, are you on crack! I'm so mad at this point I just want the car of there, so I ask how much for new rotors - I was told it was going to be $220.00! I said, FU and went and found the same exact rotors for almost half (thanks HEF!). Genuine GM parts.

Called them today and asked them how my car was doing, the rep said the brakes were done but they were still doing the recall. I asked them why they were doing a F'ing! recall on my car when I didn't ask for it (CLB recall) - silence.

I'm calling customer service once the car is back in my hands, writing a letter to GM and having someone look at the rotors. Btw, supposedly I won't be charged for anything, not even the new pads on the parking brake system. Makes no sense, at all.

What's the moral of this story - never never never take your Vette to the dealer.

The last three times I've been to the dealer, I've had problems, from ****ling to expensive.

They put the exhaust back on my '95 Z28; it rattled horribly. I crawled under and re-adjusted it in minutes.

On that same car, they put on the lug nuts so tightly that the wheel studs broke. Geez!

This last time, I took in my 2002 C5 for warranty work...they didn't wash it (thankfully!), but some ignoramus sprayed Bleche White or similar tire dressing on the tires, which badly etched all the wheels! Dealer fixed this, but geez, read the directions, "Do NOT use on aluminum wheels!"

Sounds like they didn't adjust it, or they broke the clip that holds the parking brake together. Sorry this happened to you.

I think my theory holds true.... There's a JoJo the Monkey Boy in every service department waiting to test his skill on your car.
