Default Need help on wheels sizes

I am buying a set of Iforged for the vette, and want them primarily for the street and for looks. I will however be doing some Autocross... I have decided on 18x10" on the front and need help for the rear size. please give your opinion (3 options)

Rear: 18x10.5" (2.5" chrome lip looks the best but reduces width... this is my preference but I want to run at least 305s on the rear)

Rear: 18x11" (3" lip makes my vette look like a ricer ...but bigger width)

Rear: 19x11" (19" wheel is nice but limited choice of tires...now cant run Nitto 555R2)

I need help fast as I want to placce the order today. Thanks

Since you only have a handful of tires to choose from in the 305+ 18 or 19" sizes, why not pick the tires you want to run and size the wheels accordingly.

If anything, the wider 3" lip is the anti-rice. Old muscle cars had deep dished wheels...the advent of fwd and automaker's use of high positive offset wheels in the past 20 years did away with that look, and most modern wheels have little to no lip at all due to such high offsets, and the Vette is no exception.

If you think that 1/2" of material looks better behind the spokes than on the outside, so be it. But it sure as hell ain't rice, it's the way a wheel should look IMO.

Brakes would be another consideration to choosing lip size. If you ever plan to run a larger rear brake setup, get the 2.5' lip. The 3" lip puts the spokes quite close to the stock rear calipers, and upgrading is a no-go.

I would choose option 3, 18x10 and 19x11, and run 285/30/18 and 305/30/19 Pirelli's...but that's just me.

Thanks for your input:

The main thing driving my decision for a 18" rear wheel is the selection of tires available... 19" tires seem to be few and far between (and more expensive). I have also heard that the 18" rear will give better handling when racing.

As for the lip, I think I will go for 2" on the front and 3" rear.

Default tires

Hi, when I was looking for new wheels I also priced tires at the same time and a good deal on tires influenced my wheels decision. I found some Perreli Pzero Corsa competition tires in these sizes on sale on tirerack.com. 315/30/18 rear and 285/30/18 front, so I bought 18
x 9.5 front and 18 x 10.5 rear. The tires were 764 for all four shipped.
