Mystery RPO Code
10436674 & 10316182
One was listed as 110 amp the other had no amps listed. After numerous calls, finally to a GM Parts Rep, he was told that both were in fact 110 Amps. Both are listed as the same price. My question is: I need to replace this alternator now as it is not charging at all, but I don't want to put an underpowered alternator in.
Any help would be appreciated.

'97-'00 (automatic trans) and '97-'02 (6spd trans, including Z06): 10246634
'01-'02 (automatic trans): 10316182
The catalog I'm using only goes to 2002, you might want to check and see if either number has been superseded. The number 10436674 didn't show up at all in the Corvette parts book I'm referencing although it still appears to be a good GM number and is shown to be an alternator by GMParts Direct. It may possibly be the new number listing for the 10246634.
GM Parts Direct shows the 10436674 and 10316182 as selling for $241.61. The 10246634 sells for $194.56. All of these are plus shipping of course and GM Parts Direct is a little steep on their shipping.
My recommendation would be to call Fichtner Chev at 1-800-234-5284 and get either Bob or Tom to look these numbers up to verify. Fichtner's shipping charges are much lower than GMPD.
HTH,
Robert
BTW, the current rating(s) were not listed at all. To the best of my knowledge, all our alternators are 110 amp rated, at least up through 2002. Possibly that changed in '03 and/or '04.
Anyone out there able to look up RPO codes and verify K63 for a 2000 model?
And does anyone know if putting in a 110 Amp will damage a PCM expecting 145 Amps.

I always thought that all C5's came with the 110 amp version. It is possible to get one that puts out more juice if you NEED it due to an aftermarket sound system, do a search to find the places you can get them.
FWIW, my '97-'01 parts CD has part number 10246634 for ALL '97 to '00 models & '01 6-speeds, and 10436674 for '01 automatics.

Thanks for this link, it's the most complete I've seen. I have to believe that I was misinformed about the K63 code.
So I'm out to put this 110Amp on.
