Default Do most ZO6 chrome repro wheels have the proper offset?

I noticed that the West Coast Corvettes' chrome ZO6 repros (9.5, 10.5) shod with the ZO6 tires (265/295) stick out farther in the wheel well than the stock ZO6 rims/tires on the ZO6. Should I assume that most repros come with a compromise offset, and if so, is this a bad thing?

Wheel offset is something you gotta watch. Allot of the Ebay vendors have non-stock offsets to fit multiple cars ie; Vettes, Camaros, Firebirds. Some use the same offset for both front and back wheels....

Usually the big vendors like WCC sell Vette wheels with the correct stock offset. Stock offset for the ZO6 wheels is 58mm rear and 54mm front. I recommend you go with the stock ZO6 offsets...

Do you need a bigger or smaller offset if you go with wider wheels than stock. Maybe you could explain this to a dummy...Please

Mac, offset of a wheel is the distance from its hub mounting surface to the centerline of the wheel. If the offset were to stay the same while you added width, the additional width would be split evenly between the inside and outside.

Basically you have to balance how far your tire will stick out vs hitting something on the inside. Here is stock C5 vs ZO6:

C5 offsets - front 58mm, rear 65mm
ZO6 offsets - front 54mm, rear 58mm

Hope this helps.

Sorry, just realized I transposed the numbers in my first post...Should be as above....
