*~*~*~*~*~* Need Help! What do I send to Iraq? *~*~*~*~*~*
The employees in my company want to send some packages to our men and women fighting for us in Iraq.
What would they appreciate the most?
I'm really interested in hearing from the military people who spent time there.
Thank you
Jim
Anyway, when I was in Kuwait a couple years ago, I really wanted universal adapters. Good sunscreen and bug repellent helps. The sunscreen they issued us wouldn't spread worth a damn, and the bug repellent doubled as tanning lotion....not a good thing in the desert! This may seem strange, but shower curtains might be cool too. We used them to add some privacy in the tents....one of those things that's in short supply when you're in a tent with a dozen other guys. Strength supplements are great too. Everyone on base worked out all the time. Knowing there's people nearby that would happily kill you is great motivation to pump up and get fit.
Best thing you can do is keep in touch with the people over there. It's demoralizing when there are psycho's that are willing to kill their own people and their children just to kill Americans even when the troops are there to help them. It's frustrating when you joined the Armed Forces to serve the nation, but it seems like half the nation has turned it's back on you. Writing and calling the troops over there helps them keep grounded, and helps them remember what a great place this is to live in.
You guys are pretty awesome for helping out!
I am currently serving over in Iraq and that is exactly what we could use. Something to give us a little peice of home. Thanks for the support from the homefront!!!
You cannot go wrong with baby wipes and ****. But seeing as how the latter is "inappropriate", Maxim, FHM, and Stuff type of Magazines are more than welcome. Maybe even the occaisional "Vette" magazine. (nudge, nudge.)
Baby wipes, Gatorade mix, those small red or white LED flashlights that attach to keychains (INOVA is one brand), AA and AAA batteries, books/magazines, disposable cameras, etc...
That's all I can think of right now. If your company wants a photo or a Christmas card in return for PR purposes or just to have on the wall, let me know and I'd be more than happy to send you one. Also if you need a contact address, let me know, my unit is always looking for sponsors.
I'm always humbled by the support that we get from back home, and I thank you for it.Sgt. Chris Matute, USMC

And leaftye is right, we're staying away from the children right now. It's for the best on both sides right now.

When you're in a country with different culture and laguage, you would be suprised at what you miss.

If you would like to send items to Iraq. How would you address the package's ?
