Default Duplicating Z06 Exhaust Note

I'm on the verge of buying my first Corvette. I've driven a 2003 Z06 and love the wonderful exhaust note but I'm probably going to go with a 2003 hatchback with automatic transmssion. Is there anyway to reproduce the Z06 exhaust note on a standard C5 with AT?

Thanks.
David

Yes, I was just being sarcastic, but in reality an A4 tranny equipt Vette, even with the Ti Z06 catback, won't sound the same as the Z06 winding up to 6500 RPM.
I have a friend that put a Z06 catback on his coupe, it sounds much better than the OEM system, but not quite like the Z yet.

Now there's a great idea, that should sound like what you are looking for.

I put the Z06 TI exhaust on my AE Vert. It sounds and looks better than stock but it does not duplicate the Z06 tone.

I've only removed the roof twice in 7 months.

I take the top off mine just about everytime I drive it. We've got great weather out here even on many days in December. Depends on where you live I guess.

Default Bad Move

I do not take mine off much. I think it has something to do with the dreadful day I forgot to latch it and set the worlds record for the highest corvette coupe top launch.

I prefer fixed tops, myself. However, both me and my fiance prefer the coupe styling. I don't really care for the Z06 styling - but I love the way it drives and sounds! And I'll be replacing my 1993 Porsche RS America which in spirit is much more akin to the Z06. So maybe the Z06 is the right answer after all. Or maybe I should wait for the C6 Z06.

I've taken my top off as often as I can--once you do it a couple times, you'll look for opportunities to do it... PLUS the coupe has AWESOME cargo space... If they make the C6 Z06 in coupe fashion, that would be the ultimate way to go...

there are three items giving the Z06 it's unique sound:

1. free'r flowing titanium mufflers
2. no pup-cats (pre-cats)
3. Cam

I've done two of the three... gutting my precats and swapping in the titanuim rear exhaust. Sound has improved; but still not as mean as the Z06 is.
