I'll reply to my own question. i called the tech line and it works only if you already have a CD changer, so it acts as an extra RCA jack input for laptops/ipods/etc.
Tell me the easy way to remove my changer and you can have it cheap. I never use it. I was going to buy the items you did but I never use the changer and just wanted a better connection for my satelitte radio. I have decided to buy a new stereo. I still have no use for the changer so I am having it removed if its not much trouble.
I don't understand what the guy told you. I have the gmh20t connected to the gmasx adapter for a 6 cd alpine player. It also has a aux input for my roady. My setup includes the radio with a single cd, alpine 6 cd changer, roady xm radio. These are all hardwired to the HU using the gmh20t adapter and the gmasx adapter. I works well.
I reread your response. You need a cd player compatible with the gmasx, NOT the stock cd player. You can get a cd player compatible for probably less the $150.
Thanks for the coorection, DocToss. I really have no interest in a CD changer (any brand) so I'll leave the unit up for sale, but thanks for the clarification.
This is a great buy and a great way to have a cd changer PLUS aux inputs connected to the stock HU. It seems everyone uses the aux inputs that replaces the stock cd player, but if you don't already have the stock cd player (or want to replace it ), you can use these adapters to install a cd player and the aux inputs at the same time.
