I have an '01 vert, bought Z06 rims, and put Toyo Proxes on them for my summer wheels. After driving them for 5 months, I can definitely say they beat the run craps hands down. They stick infinitely better dry and wet, and have eliminated the 'crabwalk' the run craps are notorious for. But, the sidewalls are softer, so when taking those on and off ramps at 65MPH, I can feel a slight sidewall give that wasn't present in the Goodyears. However, I think trading off grip, forgiveness and ride quality, for extreme cornering is a great compromise for daily driving.
I'm now going to put Pilot Sport A/S non-runflat on the sock rims for the winter, and hope to be as happy with those. I'll let you know next spring!
