Default Gas flap will not open

Just like it says I went to the gas station today and hit the button to open the gas flap and nothing happened. I tried a bit to jimmy it open with my school id but no luck.

Any suggestions, I really dont want tohave to take it to the dealership since its already near closing.

I believe there is a manual cable in the inside rear compartment of the car, near the gas cap. Someone else may be able to describe it more.

On my coupe, there is a manual release inside the hatch area. Have you tried the manual release cable?

I can't go check right now, but I see to recall it's in the upper sidewall area on the driver's side.

There should be a manual release cable located in close proximity to the leftmost rear stowage compartment. Pop the hatch and give it a yank.

So the gas cap lid won't open. When you press the button do you hear the solenoid work? If not then try checking the connections at the switch, under the center console.

As others already stated you can open the lid through the trunk (left side wheel well), if you had to.

Like everybody else, the manual release. When this happened to me it was because the console was removed for some aftermarket stuff and the wires got pinched when the console went back in; bad stuff started to happen as the insulation got eaten.

Thank you all very much!!!

I just checked and hidden away is a manual fuel door release button. Seems Ill have to get it checked anyways, but means I wont run into reserve fuel on the way home today.

Its good to know I can always count on fellow CF members

No need to go to a dealership to check the connections, do it yourself.
