Default Need some Rocker Arm advice...

Hello !
I am going to be installing some CarTech Stage 2 heads/cam package (Thank's for the deal Corvette Poor!) on my '99, and I need to know if my stock LS1 rocker arms will work, or should I step up to some aftermarket rocker arms ? The package as purchased from Corvette Poor includes Hardened pushrods, and the heads are complete, minus the rocker arms. Thank's for your help in advance,

Steve

Your stock rocker arms will work just fine.

Default he's right, they will work fine

It's true that the stock rockers will work fine, the only reason I will use aftermarket (harland sharps) when I do my H/C is the chance that one will come apart (known issue with them) and dump the needle bearings into the engine. Search here and at ls1tech.com to get an idea of how often that happens...just my opinion.

Stock rocker arms will work fine as long as they dont have a whole lot of miles on them. If they have over 60K-70K miles on them, I would consider going with something else. Its not purdy when one of the stock ones dies and dumps its nice little needle bearings throughout your motor.

Harland Sharp also will rebuild your stock rockers so that the bearings won't come apart.
