Default Low Oil Level????

Hey fellas,

I just got a low oil level light on today..... No biggie, went to the parts store for some mobil 1...... Checked the oil and it indicated that it was fine....maybe a half quart low.... I checked about 4 times to make sure......

So, I put a quart of Mobil 1 in anyway, my car has been burning some oil since my H/C job.....

My problem is that the Low Oil Level Light is still on? I can reset it, but everytime i start the car...the light comes on? Is there a code that I can check?

Hmmmm, do you mean the message on the DIC? Or the engine light?

If your engine light is on....hold the Option button and hit the Fuel button 4 times to get the codes..........then scroll through each system and clear them......

I had the same thing happen to me and I made sure the oil level
was good with the car parked on level ground then I reset the dic
message and oil life monitor then I disconnected the battery for
several hours and that fixed the problem for me.

You'll often get the Low Oil Level message while or just after parking on an incline. The illustration below shows that's it's mounted in the rear of the engine near the starter. I've gotten this message while the car was on ramps in my garage but it went away shortly afterward.
