98 C5 bolt-on mods auto. So, last summer I hear a noise coming from the Drivers seat while its parked in the driveway. Its sort of buzzing, comes and goes, a few seconds long. Sounded to me just like the bolsters were "moving" on their own and that's where the noise seemed to come from (under the seat). I figured it was due to the cracked switch housing on the side of the seat or maybe that one day I left the window opened for that 5 minute rain storm. It happened here and again but typically stopped. Then, one day, nothing. No seat operation (up/down/back/forth only but no bolsters movement). Figured a fuse but what the heck, I never move the driver's side anyhow.
But, today, one year later, I'm driving and the pass side does the same. I fiddle with the switches but it kept it up. And not too many people drive with me so I suspect the seat's in good shape.
same thing happened a couple weeks ago while detailing car...seat
was buzzing.......It was in position all the way back...I moved it forward
a bit .and bit ...it stopped...Id just try re-positioning it
Yeh, I tried the reposition thing and, while it seems to make it stop for a moment, it didn't stop it all together. One thing was when I was movng the switch, when I let go the seats seemed to "hunt" (move) still for just an instant. Its almost as if they are trying to position themselves and can't get the right spot (which I know isn't the case but that's what it looks like). Very wierd. I just don't want the darn things to overheat and/or drain the battery.
