Default VERIFY exhaust part numer & application of 03-Z06

Hope someone can answer this. I have another exhaust with the numbers 12569156 stamped on it with 1153f8 underneath on the cats. it is suppose to be off of an 03 z06.....

I want to verify if it is from a ZO6 before I take off the original existing H pipe/cat system with 25168249 and 0287f8 on them. it is a 97 6spd coupe.

I am jacking it up now and just want to make sure it is worth the changeout. they both look the same in configuration and although I detect a slight change in tone when tapping....I cannot tell any major difference.

thanks in advance, Tom

Not sure I understand what you're asking. If you are talking about the mufflers, Z06 mufflers are made out of titanium and that word is stamped onto the bottom of each muffler. I'll get the part number for you if you need it. If you are talking about the complete exhaust, from the exhaust manifolds back, I can't help you with part numbers. The Z06 was introduced in 2001. It's my understanding the mufflers will fit any C5. I hope this helps.

Default Exhaust H pipes too wide to mate to manifolds

Thanks for the reply...the H pipe and cats on the car ARE single cats and as far as I know they were original...that is why I wanted to check the numbers stamped on them before I changed out.
Anyway, I dropped the exhaust and the new H pipe one has the pipes at the manifold end about 1 inch to 1.25 inches Center/center WIDER and will not mount up to the stock manifolds. did the Z have different flange configuration at the manifolds to the exhaust pips.....I thought they were all the same but for the ports..??? guess I will put the old pipes back on till I can determine what else is needed.
its a coupe, 97, 6 spd, all stock with 120k on the clock
Appreciate any comments. Tom
