Went to start the car this morning *******DEAD BATTERY********* It is a 2004 with 2500 miles. Called roadside they came and jumped the car. I checked i did not leave anything on. I took the car for a drive came home shut it off it restarted tryed this about 4 times. Put a battery tender on.if there is a short the battery tender will never fully charge the battery. I feel if the battery is bad that it would not have restarted the car. I checked for codes there were none.I don't know if there is a code when the battery is bad. Is there anything else i should check?.

Question- How long did the Corvette go unused? The factory Delco's without a battery tender are good for 17-21 days (parasetic drain). I also changed over the Optima Red Top long time ago and have never had a problem since! In fact, my Optima was purchased in 1999 and is on its 2nd C5!
I had it out Sunday and drove about 50 miles. On thursday i started it after changing the oil. Right now the battery tender been on it since 4pm it should be fully charged by the morning. If not Monday I can get a battery tester.
Some batteries will not charge well after a total discharge. A Battery Tender is good to maintain a battery, not to charge one. It may work, but is probably not good for it. Hope it works out for you.
