Default Acclerator Pedal - how do you remove it?

I bought the aluminum pedal from Ecklers. The instructions says to pull pin in the back of the pedal and insert new pedal. For the life of me, I unable to pull the pin securing the pedal. Anybody succesful in getting pin out?

It shouldn't be too hard to remove the peddle, mine has fallen off twice. From what I could see, there is a groved pin that goes through the peddle and the arm it mounts to. There is a spring that keeps the peddle from flopping around and I beleive that the spring rides in the grove in the pin to keep everything in place.

This is from C5 Tech Tips. Don't know if it might help or not.

I replaced my stock pedal with an aluminum pedal several months ago. Getting the pin out was difficult. I ended up using a pair of plyers by putting one jaw on the end of the pin and the other on the side flange of the pedal and squeezing (i.e. pushing the pin out from behind). Once the pin disengages the spring, you should be able to pull the pin the rest of the way out. Once disassembled, you'll see that the pin has a notch in it, which the spring engages and locks the pin in place. One thing that helped me to install the new pedal was a very, very small c-clamp. I needed something to hold the spring in place while I put the pedal on, lined up the holes, and inserted the pin. Using a small c-clamp to hold the spring in placed made the job a lot easier. Also, remember that the lever that the pedal is attached to has some very sensitive and expensive sensors at the firewall. So, don't get frustrated and start hammering on the lever. Hope this helps. Good luck!

I replaced my stock gas pedal several months ago. Getting the pin out was easy. Putting the pin and spring back in was NOT. I struggled but used a mirror on the floor of the car and that helped me see what was going on. My back was sore for several days but the new pedal sure looks good! I have a few pictures of the project if it would help anyone thinking about this mod.
