These noises drive us nuts!!! Whatever it is, it ain't right! Since it's only the 1-2 shift, the first thought is synchros in the tranny, not necessarily clutch or throwout bearing. If it were on launch, it might be torque related and something weird like a broken mount and something rubbing in the torque tube, or maybe that phantom squeak on the H-pipe exhaust mount spring.
I'd take it to a Corvette mechanic for evaluation. Even if there's a small charge for the eval, it'll be worth it. Unless, of course, you're able to tear down the drive train on your beauty yourself, you're going to need some help! The C5s have some "interesting" torque tube and drive line noises and you want an experienced ear on the problem.
Sorry the noise is going from stop into first and on the launch... it only happens sometimes, not always, kinda hard to explain... but i dont know what i was thinking sayin it was 1-2. ill have to take her into the dealer as im under warranty still....

On startup, this is the normal C5 clutch noise. See if it sounds better if you take off at higher rpm (1000-1200).
mine makes that noise, 9500 miles, always has. to eliminate that noise on launch, i give it more gas, depressing accelerator as i let out clutch. its a fast start, but what the heck. On slow starts, i just let the clutch out more slowly, and no "marbles in can "noise.
Would this be the "marbles in a can" sound? If so, mine does it too. I've read here that alot of C5s make this sound.
I had that "marbles in a can" sound with a Spec III carbon clutch..... drove me nuts. On cold startup, it sounded like something had come loose and was rattling around. I switched to an Exedy twin disk clutch.... there is a little rattle on cold start, but it pretty much disapears when warn. I heard that the Gold Luc ? clutch is very quiet.
only on start up its normal?? Ill have to listen closer tomorrow and see if i get it after a good 20 mile drive or so...
Start up, meaning any time you start from a stop, slip it into first gear and get going. I did not mean just when you first start the car in the morning
Mine had that sound too. To eliminate that sound, I installed LT headers and Borla catbacks. The only thing I hear now is the load roar every time I drop the clutch.
Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
