Incorrect air temp on Vortech S/C 01-?

Incorrect air temp on Vortech S/C 01-?
My air temp sensor is placed together with the MAF-sensor
(02 Corvette)
Shouldn't the air sensor be placed after the aftercooler to get right air temp?
Under a log run I was running 11,4 at wot, to rich I think
Could the air sensor be the problem?
I don't think you can compensate the air temp difference( before and after S/C) by tuning, as Vortech`s tuner must have done.
Is it possible to cut the wires to my standard temp sensor, buy a sensor from 97-00 and placed it after the aftercooler?
