Default Transmission vs Fuel Filter issue ?

Hi Forum Community, I have an '01 automatic - 29,500 miles - with a G92 rear axel ratio. As you might can tell by the title of this post, looks like we are all over the page here. I have been to three different Dealers regarding this issue and have gone from possible transmission to maybe a fuel filter issue according to the Dealer. No resolution.

I have taken my vette in with these symptons: I notice when I am slowing down to yield for example to approx 5 mph +/- then accelerate normally - the car sound and feels as if it is slipping (revving up without responding) then it feels like it jerks into gear then takes off. The Dealer is not attributing this to a transmission issue, but says it could possibly be your fuel filter. Sounds like just a shot it the dark to me. They have supposibly put it on their computer to check the plugs, etc... with no issues. Not sure how you check a transmission on a computer, etc.. All I know is it is annoying as hell and concerns me that when my 36,000 warranty runs out, I could have a problem on my hands. If I drive with it in 3 rd say through the neighborhood streets and not put it in overdrive, I do not feel that surge as bad when I slow down to turn corners to get to respond the same, etc...

What doe this sound like to you ? I am open for suggestions to talk with again to the Dealer on your opinions and comments.

Thanks

To me, it sounds precisely the way you described it. The engine is beginning to rev up, but the RPM/power in not being transmitted to the rear wheeels. So I would vote for either transmission slipping, or torque converter not transmitrting the power to the transmission.
Double check your transmission fluid level per the owner's manual. Also particularly note if the transmission fluid has a burnt aroma to it. If it does, then that "could" be a sign of band slippage within the transmission. Get them (the service department) to drive the car or ride with you so you can point it out at the moment it occurs.
Good Luck!
