I have a 99 vert and sometimes my HVAC display (LED) is very dim. I can tap on it sometimes and it becomes a little brighter and other times I can see any info.
Has anyone experienced this ? The service guy at the parts counter told me that this unit can be replaced. The cost of the part is approx. $330.00 plus labor. Any info would be appreciated....
Many others before you have experienced this same thing. No fix other than to replace it. Some have gotten them off ebay for cheaper.
replace the bad one. Suggest you give Gene at Karshop a call as he has them from time to time (he's a supporting vendor). His prices and service are very good as well. If you have an option, get a later model unit as GM made improvements to the later designs. They all plug and play...no more than a 20 minute install.

I posted the same question a few months ago. A dual control unit costs $125-$175 from Gene's if I remember correctly. This is unfortunately a common problem.
From: You want HOW much for that Corvette part??? Atlanta GA
Gene quoted me $150 for a hvac control unit. I eventually bought a unit from a 2001 c5 from brad's corvette for $135. check around and bargain for the best deal. installation is easy and takes less than 30 mins.
