What lsa do you have and how do you like it? I was debating on 112. I was told the 112 is still streetable but just a little more rowdy than the 114. Also you don't have to fly cut the pistons unless you put aftermarket heads on, right?

G5X3 on a 114 here. Extremely streetable. As cam only, made 35 rwhp over stock Z06 cam. As far as fly cutting, my understanding is that measurements need to be made, especially with the 112 lsa cam. I just had AFR 205 heads installed and there was no fly cutting needed. With the exception of some shake from a "cold" start, it is virtually impossible (well, you can "hear" the cam) to tell my car is a H/C application making over 450 rwhp. Both Chris and Marc (from ECS..where all the work was done) are perplexed by the docile driving nature of this car. Of course, once you put your foot into it, things change very fast.

What vendors will flycut the pistons? I called around today and a couple said they didn't recommend it and said they don't do it.

There is plenty of meat in the stock pistons to flycut. I have drilled a few test holes and there was more then then I thought. cant imagine a shop not doing any flycutting. Just need to have the proper setup and its really not bad.

I have a 114, love it! Mine was installed by LGM, considered the 112, didn't want to fly cut.

Little note: Big cams don't like low RPM's. I have a slight buck at 1500 rpms. This car is no fun in heavy stop and go traffic!!

Barry,

Get 4.10 gears if you don't have them already....makes a BIG difference driving in stop and go traffic, IMO.

I have the G5X3 112. I did not have to fly cut the pistons. Mine was also installed by LG.

Thats what I wanted to know. I didn't know if I would have to fly cut with the 112. Eventually I will get a set of AFR heads not sure 205 or 225. I'll have to wait and see how the 225's are. If I do have to flycut I might be driving to Chris.
AP Engineering said they don't fly cut and don't recommend it. Thats were I was planning on having it installed.
