Since the advent of the catalytic converter we auto enthusiasts have strived through exhaust modification for a true dual exhaust system. To have separate twin exhaust pipes un-encumbered by the Siamesing of the cursed converter.
I now submit this question: If you install an X or H-pipe to your exhaust system for performance purposes is it a true “dual exhaust?
Something to think about on the forth comming long cold winter nights.

Not sure of what your term for true duel exhaust means but and H pipe or X pipe is much better than two seperate pipes.. and has been incorporated into corvettes for more than 20 years. H pipes and X pipes are a plus for scavenging exhaust pulses from the engine add quicker and balanced exhaust from a V 8 engine.
Duals are duals! Back in the 50's you had a head pipe, muffler (a Smiitty or similar) and a tail pipe on each side. Later, it was found that adding an "H" section improved performance and sound. Now with seperate catalytic convertors, they're still duals. Nothing to think about.
