Default A4 tranny maintenance?

WHo all is doing their own tranny fluid changes?
Besides needing a small pump to add the new fluid, describe how you've been doing it and what materials you need.
(type fluid, is there a filter, where is the fill and drain, etc).
Many thanks in advance.

my A4 is due for a fluid change and i was inquiring about doing it myself. however, my dealership said they will not only change the fluid but they will flush the transmission as a part of the service. i don't know what that all entails, but i've opted to let them do the service. i've heard positive things about having the tranny flushed periodically. does anyone have any ideas about this? just an addendum to the original post

I installed my transmission in my garage and I do all of my own work but when it comes to the transmission fluid, I'll let the dealership flush it. For what they charge it's not worth the hassle for me to do it plus since they actually flush the fluid then your going to have completely fresh fluid in the cooler and torque converter as well.

Problem is do it your self and you leave 1/2 the old burned dirty fluid inside. Pay the money and let the dealer flush it.

I don't really trust the dealer and certainly not Jiffy lube to work on a car with 1" of ground clearance.
