Help! Temporary M6 Trouble ?
Hello, first time posting and need help already. Got to the post office parking lot, put it in nuetral let go of the clutch and heard an intermitent knocking from right below which i also felt through the shifter. When i stepped on the clutch the noise went away, then returned as a costant grind for about 30 seconds when i released the clutch again. Didn't do much more of this on the way home or at the dealer the next morning, Go figure! Sounded like a roller bearing falling apart or maybe some pieces of ground up tranny gears from my poor shifting. As of now the clutch feels like new and it shifts normally throughout all the gears. Any ideas on what caused this episode and why its gone now? 04 CE coupe 4600mi. Mods: vortex air box, cags, magnetic drain plugs.

Poor tolerances in the trans is the big issue. Sounds just like mine, marbles in the transmission. If you get out and put your head down near your left rear wheel you can hear it really well.
