Should there be a voltage difference between battery and chassis ground?
All in the title. Should a voltmeter always read zero when measuring voltage between the battery ground and a chassis ground on the frame?
I am seeing about 0.05 volts difference. Is there a grounding problem somewhere?

??? don't lose any sleep over that amount.
Sure there will be a drop. There is resistance in the wires going from the battery negative terminal to elsewhere. And the voltage difference will vary dependign on how many items are powered up at the time.

Also noted that I was able to read .25 difference on another ground point with the battery completely disconnected.
