In upgrading the fuel system to handle the additional demand for a supercharger, one of the six screws that hold the sender ***'y in place got stripped.
This is a very funky setup, requiring 60 in-lbs of torque to hold the sender and gasket in place. The rebuild kit includes bolts with heads that shear off when the right torque is reached.
So, any ideas on how to fix this? The metal the screws mate to is rather thin, and the gasket appears to need equal pressure to seal correctly (making epoxy a questionable solution.)
Right now it's looking like a)epoxy the crap out of it and hope it seals, or b) I get to replace the fuel tank.
Based on a conversation with dad (a boat guy) this kind of thing happens all the time in marine situations. He suggested drilling and tapping the next larger size. I'll give that a shot before pitching the tank for a new one.
