Default Basic X-Pipe Question

I did a quick search and didn't find the answer I was looking for, so sorry if this has been discussed before!!

I have a basically stock '99 6 spd coupe. I have installed the B&B PRT exhaust. The rest of the exhaust system is stock. Right now I don't plan to install headers or change the current cats (not enough mod money ). However, I do want to purchase a good X-Pipe to eliminate the "slightly" annoying burble/popping that is associated with the B&Bs.

My question: Can I purchase and install an x-pipe that doesn't require cutting and welding anything?

Thanks!!

You need to cut the stock h-pipe aft of the cats with any x-pipe setup. That is a solid piece from the manifolds to the cat-back.

Magnaflow and Corsa have decent pipes for under $300, and any exhaust shop can do the work - piece of cake.

First, I think they all require some kind of welding/cutting to install.
Here's what I did. Usually I will do mods myself to save money--installed cat-back in my garage. After doing some research I found out it was cheaper to have X-pipe installed at a local muffler shop. I went to the Magnaflow website, found a dealer in my area and had them order a X-pipe and weld it in place. The difference is that it is just the X-pipe w/o the extensions and flanges like you would buy if you were going to do it yourself. If you go to the website, you'll see what I mean. Except this is welded in and only cost me $160.00 parts and labor. My 2 cents. Good luck.

I thought I read somewhere that one of the manufacturers has a flared end that could be slip fit over the existing pipe (I guess this would be the cut location?) and clamped on. Is this an adequate attachment option? Or is the consensus that the X-pipe should be welded in place?

I bought a used Corsa X-Pipe on the parts for sale section for either $150.00 or $175.00 something like that!

Have you installed it yet? If so, did you do it yourself? clamp or weld?
