Pesky check engine light on again...
If I start the car from cold and get the engine to operating temp by driving the car in 2nd gear for a mile or so the light won't come on. If I drive in 3rd or 4th before operating temp is reached, the light comes on. If I turn any switches on inc the radio. turn signals, A/C etc before operating temp is reached this also turns the check engine light on! I checked the codes and the only 2 current are HVAC -C and 10 PCM -C.
The car drives perfectly with absolutely no problems with the running at all. Still getting 28 to the gallon and loads of power, super smooth at idle too. The A/C seems to be running fine. Is it ok to just keep re-setting the codes to turn the light off cos I've been doing this for about 2000 miles with no ill after effects.

What PCM code are you getting?
The 10 PCM is only the category, and a code within this category will turn on the check engine light. But without us knowing what that code is, we can't really help.
The code will begin with a P and a 4digit number after it (ie: P0300)
The HVAC code won't cause the CE light.

Thanks for the info Y2Kvert4me! I once again cleared the code so I'll take the car out again after it's been sitting over night then see what the actual code number is when the ce light comes back on.
