Hey guys, I just removed the bsm on my car. didn't take much but a little elbow grease and some great advice from the forum. the only problem that I have now is that there is a bit of adhesive left from the bsm. I've tried to use a pre-wax/paint cleaner and it seemed to remove a majority of the adhesive, but there is a small bit that I can't get off. It is very noticeable up close, but it bothers me because I know that it's there. Is there any product that any of you would suggest I use to solve this problem?
Heated up with a hair dryer first, then pulled mouldings off
Heated up large pieces of gray tape and balled it off with my thumb
Used Goo Gone to get most of left over glue off
Used cleaner wax to remove last of fine glue residue
Then final wax
When I removed my drivers side moulding it had water under it. After I removed the moulding completely and cleaned/waxed the door still had a large gray foggy stripe on the door! I was sick, thought I would have to repaint the door.I then used the hair dryer on the foggy area and after about 20 min on high heat it all cleared up, now it looks perfect. I think the water trapped under the moulding soaked into the water based paint.
